The Effect of Solcoseryl(Haemyl(r)) on The Wound Healing of Rats

Abstract
Solcoseryl(Haemyl(r)) is a chemically and biologically standardized, protein free, non-pyogenic and non-antigenic dialysate from the blood of healthy sucking calves.
This study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of Solcoseryl in open wound. Additionaly, we examined the effect of intravenous or intramuscular administration of Solcoseryl compared with topical administration of Tetrachlorodecaoxide(TCDO)
and
combined therapy of Solcoseryl and TCDO. We used eighty rats which were divided into four group, 1) control group of physiologic saline, 2) intraperitoneal injection group of Solcoseryl, 3) topical administration group of TCDO, 4) combined group
of
Solcoseryl and TCDO. The size of wound contraction was calculated, The specimen from the granulation tissue was stained with Hematoxylene & Eosine stain. The histological findings were compared with control group.
@ES The results were obtained as follows;
@EN 1. Solcoseryl used by intraperitoneal administration was effective in wound healing.
2. There were significant differences between experimental groups and control group(P<0.05).
3. The combined therapy with Solceseryl and TCDO did not accelerate the healing process of experimental wounds of rats more than its monotherapy but it was significantly more effective than control group.
4. In microscopc findings on the Solcoseryl group, the authors observed marked growth of the granulation tissue, infiltration of the inflammatory cells, development of capillaries ad even arrangement of collagen than the control group.
We can conclude that the Solcoseryl used by intravenous or intramuscular administration promotes granulation tissue formation, augmented vascularization and enhanced accumulation, so wound healing can be shortened.
